Parents and Students,
We are very excited about the Mardi Gras Ball for our 7th and 8th graders Friday evening. Please read through it carefully to ensure you are aware of what to expect and what our procedures will be.
Students must attend at least half day of school on Friday to be able to attend the Ball. Students who checkout before 11 am will not be able to attend. We do not encourage you checking out, but we understand it will happen. The graphics on this explain how to prepare for that day and what to expect the day of. Please note if the adult trying to check your child out is not on their Oncourse to be able to check them out, they will not be allowed to go with them. We will not be calling parents to verify or accepting notes. The adult MUST be on the child’s Oncourse. The adult must also know the child’s student ID number. Please refer to the graphic for more information.
There is also a graphic for FAQ. Please make sure you review over that information to know what is expected.
At the dance we will have concessions available along with a VIP Photo Pass. In order to have pictures taken by local photographer, Ashley Caskey, and to be able to use the photo book students must purchase this pass. It is $5 per person. The pictures by Ashley Caskey and the photobooth will be able to be downloaded. Nothing will be printed.
To drop off your student, you will need to utilize the carline. A graphic provides more information on how that works.
In order to keep your child safe, we have strict procedures for our dismissal at the end of the dance. Please review those graphics. If you are not in the pickup lanes by 8 pm (when the parking lot closes), you must drive to the front of the school and park in a parking spot until a staff member provides more instructions. If that occurs, please be prepared to enter the school at the designated time.
Our hope is you find all the information you need in these graphics. They are on facebook, our website, our app, and now they have been emailed to you. If there is a question, please ask it ASAP. We will not be able to respond to questions via email or on facebook during the dance, during checkouts, or during pickup. We need to be focused on what we are doing to keep your child safe and having fun.

This is for 7th and 8th grade only.

We implemented this last year and helped us to know interrupt instruction and we were able to get the students checked out quickly.
Parents also know this will count as an unexcused absence. Your child is required to attend at least half the day to be able to attend.
- More information will come about dropoff and pickup for the dance!

UPDATE: Thursday, January 29, 2026
Bossier Schools will remain CLOSED for students and teachers Friday, January 30 out of an abundance of caution due to continued safety concerns on our campuses as a result of the wintry weather.
We cannot risk your children’s return to school until the thick ice accumulation melts or can be removed from awnings, walkways, bus ramps and parking lots.
Our district leaders and 12-month employees will be working Friday to get our schools and centers ready for reopening Monday, February 2, and to de-ice and prepare for another round of frigid temperatures being forecast for the weekend. This is a work day at our schools and centers, and they will not be open for normal operations.
We know this week has been unusual and Bossier Schools greatly appreciates your understanding, support and working with us to make the best of the situation.

Lets try this one more time! :)
Thursday - All schools are closed
Our basketball game for Thursday will be postponed. As soon as we have information of when it will sent out to you. As always the basketball team and spirit groups need to check their rooms on the app to be aware of any information being sent out by your coach or sponsor.
Mardi Gras Ball tickets will be available until MONDAY at 3 pm. This is due to the fact we haven't been at school to help anyone with School Cash Online. However MONDAY will be the final day. Everyone planning to attend needs to log into School Cash TODAY and make sure you can see the link to purchase your child's ticket. If you cannot see the link on your child's School Cash Online account please complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeFXGoltZ3oJWO_rlBDLVT4JSbt23fGC82vHcKvNGRczE9oVQ/viewform?usp=preview
Completing this form now, allows for Mrs. Taylor and I to work on this quickly. Waiting until Monday will cause for us to possibly not be able to get to you before the deadline.
Out of an abundance of caution, all Bossier schools and district offices will remain CLOSED Thursday, January 29 as the district continues to assess the impact the recent winter storm is having on operations.
Though the ice is melting, considerable hazards remain on roadways, bus ramps, in car lines and on our school campuses, making it unsafe for our students and staff to return. In addition, the National Weather Service is forecasting freezing fog overnight and into Thursday morning, heightening the danger of traveling.
It is our hope to reopen Friday, January 30 after another day of above-freezing temperatures. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding this week and will provide another update at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Wednesday - no school! Stay warm and stay safe!
Our BPSO Shooting Sports Parent Meeting will be postponed. A new date will be sent out at a later time.
We still plan to have our HMS Basketball game against Cope on Thursday. Remember students may wear glow colored clothes or bright colored clothes to the game (not to school) on Thursday and get in free! Our games will begin at 4:30. Students must be accompanied by an adult. No outside food or drinks are permitted.
The softball scrimmage in Ruston has been canceled.
Friday is the final day to purchase your Mardi Gras Ball ticket. This can only be purchased online. If you do not see it on your account and you have not had any behavior issues, you may owe fees. Your fees must be paid to be able to purchase your ticket. Please email Mrs. Pam Taylor or Mrs. Ashley Sanchez once you have paid your fees to ensure we add it to your School Cash Online Account.
As always, students need to be checking their rooms on the Bossier App in case a teacher, sponsor, or coach is trying to provide information to your child.

1) Our basketball game is postponed to March 2. We are still scheduled to play our Thursday night game at this time. Basketball players continue checking your Basketball Room in our app for more information from Coach Newton. Spirit groups, you will also need to check your rooms in the app in case your sponsor needs to give you more information.
2) We will not have any practices for any sports, teams, or groups on Monday or Tuesday this week. Please check your rooms in the app in case your coach or sponsor posts information.
3) Please remember Mardi Gras tickets are still available online at School Cash online. The weather will not change the final date to purchase tickets on January 30.
We hope you are warm and enjoying the winter weather!

We have 2 home basketball games this week Our Bucs will take on Greenacres on Monday and Cope on Thursday. All basketball games start at 4:30. 7th grade plays first. Remember students may not be dropped off. They must have an adult with them. No outside food or drinks are allowed.
