Bossier Parish Schools takes great pride in helping our Department of Defense families have a smooth transition into our school system and remain successful while in it. One of the resources we have available to us is a CYB-MFLC assigned to HMS. Permission slips were previously sent home with all students who have an Active Duty, Reserve, or Guard parent/guardian. Volleyball: Monday we will will have our LAST volleyball game of the season! Help us Camo the Rams by coming to the game dressed in camo. The HMS Hall of Fame is designed to recognize outstanding 8th grade students. This program is an amazing opportunity to recognize students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievement, leadership ability, and citizenship. The HMS Student of the Year will be chosen from the HMS Hall of Fame students. If you are interested in applying, please see your ELA teacher for the Google Classroom Code. Students must be logged into their school email accounts to access the application. All applications are due no later than 8:00 am on Monday, September 29. Volleyball: We only have 2 more Volleyball home games before their season is over. We would love for you to pack the bleachers on Monday with your red to show our girls your support! Monday our games begin at 5 pm. Coaches: Coach Hunt, Coach Morris, and Coach Glaze
Archery: The HMS Archery team will begin holding tryouts and a clinic for new archers or experienced archers looking to knock the dust off their bow strings. Girls will have their clinic on Wednesday, September 17th and open tryouts on Thursdays, September 18th. Boys clinic and tryouts will be the following week, Wednesday September 24th and Thursday September 25th. Attending the Clinic is not required in order to attend tryouts, but it is highly encouraged. Permission slips for tryouts and a copy of the athletic waiver can be picked up from Mr. Smith's room (201) during Buc block and between classes. Girls must have their waivers and permission forms returned by THE END OF MONDAY and the boys must have their waivers and permission forms in by Friday, September 19th. Sponsor: Coach Smith

HMS will recognize Childhood Cancer Month by helping raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Students may donate $5 (through School Cash Online) to wear jeans (blue in color with no hole, rips, or tears) along with a yellow or gold shirt on September 17. All donations must be paid by noon on September 16 through School Cash online.


Students who were present ALL week will be allowed to wear their favorite color shirt on Friday, Sept. 12. They must still wear uniform bottoms. Remember no hoodies, no sleeveless shirts, and midriffs must not show.


We are having issues with students bringing water bottles to school that are not allowed. According to our handbook on page 18, it is stated students may only bring water in clear plastic water bottles. Students have been reminded multiple times. Starting Monday, students will receive D-slips for not following this rule. Thank you for your help.
