HMS Student's Essay Places Nationally
School Board Recognition Month
Haughton Middle School is fortunate to have such wonderful school board members. We appreciate your dedication and sacrifice in making our district the best place for students, parents, and teachers.
Below is a video that explains the role of the school board.
Proof of Residency and Technology Fee
All parents are required to provide proof of residency in the form of a utility bill and a $5.00 technology fee. Parents may bring this information and money to the front office, or students may bring these items to their homeroom teacher. Please write the student's name on the bill. If mailing, our address is 395 South Elm Street. Please include the homeroom teacher's name on the front of the envelope. We appreciate your help.

2016-2017 Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Leon began her education career by teaching her favorite subjects of reading and English in January of 1990 at Princeton Junior High School. She moved to Haughton Middle School with the Princeton faculty the year it opened, 1999. She has enjoyed teaching here in the Haughton area all these years and is happy to now welcome many of the children of her former students into her classroom!
Mrs. Leon graduated from Caddo Parish Magnet High School. She also received two degrees from Louisiana State University in Shreveport: a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Masters of Education. She uses her background of an excellent education to instill in her students the love of reading and writing in fun and unusual ways.
Mrs. Leon has been married to her husband, Mike, for twenty-six years, and they have two children, Lauren and Tony. Mrs. Leon absolutely loves being a teacher and is so happy to represent our school as the HMS Teacher of the Year.
Attention Sixth Grade Parents
All sixth grade students in Louisiana who have had their 11th birthday must provide a current immunization report that includes the Meningococcal vaccine, Tdap booster, and two doses of Varicella. Compliance is tracked via the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. Thanks for your assistance.
PLEASE SEND THE UPDATED RECORD TO SCHOOL!
